b. MIKRITE

Mikrite: Is a microbial fungicide effective against powdery mildew that causes major damage on different kinds of agricultural crops. There are many different species of powdery mildew fungi (e.g., Erysiphe spp., Sphaerotheca spp.) and each species only attacks specific plants. Powdery mildew first appears as white, powdery spots that may form on both surfaces of leaves, on shoots, and sometimes on flowers and fruit. These spots gradually spread over a large area of the leaves and stems. Leaves infected with powdery mildew may gradually turn completely yellow, die, and fall off, which may expose fruit to sunburn. On some plants, powdery mildew may cause the leaves to twist, buckle, or otherwise distort. Severely infected plants may have reduced yields, shortened production times, and fruit that has little flavor.

Mode of action: Mikrite has a systemic action acts as a respiration inhibitor by blocking the electron transfer at fungal mitochondrial membrane. The product shows longevity of more than 15 days control.

BIO-INSECTICIDE

Miklens Bio | MIKROOT

c. MIKROOT

Soil with its rich organic content serves as an excellent place for several pests to thrive and flourish. White grubs, wireworms, termites and nematodes are some of the important pests.

MIKROOT is a novel blend of microbial and plant extract. It is an organic comprehensive solution to all the soil pests like white grubs, termites, wireworms and nematodes. MIKROOT works quite effectively against all these pests through its unique mode of action through ingestion and also as contact properties. On ingestion, MIKROOT enters the gut and damage the epithelial layers of the digestive system thereby resulting into septicemia leading to death of the pest. It also inhibits the chitin synthesis.

Advantages:

  • Eco-friendly, nontoxic. target Specific
  • No harmful effects on beneficial insects like earthworms etc.
  • Free from pesticide residues

Quality parameters:
  • Appearance: Off white powder
  • pH – 6.5-7.0
  • Odour –Pungent odour
  • Shelf life: 2 years
  • Recommended for all crops
Application:
  • Dosage of 5 gm/lt water, mix it thoroughly to drench the soil infested with the pest, preferably at the base of the plant directed to its root zone.
  • Use adequate volume of water depending on the nature of the soil, removing the nozzle of the sprayer.
  • Repeat the application in case the pest infestation level is very high.

f. MIKMINE

Mikmine: Is a microbial insecticide effective against leaf miners and mealy bugs. Mealybug infestations appear on plants as tiny, soft-bodied insects surrounded by a fuzzy, white mess around the stems and leaf nodes. They attach themselves to the plant and secrete a powdery wax layer (hence the name mealybug) used for protection while they suck the plant juices. The main species of mealybugs are longtailed mealybugs (Pseudococcus longispinus) and citrus mealybugs (Planococcus citri). They cause damage by sucking the juice from their host plants. Like many pests, mealybugs tend to favor new growth. Over time, their damage causes the leaves to yellow and eventually drop from the plant. They can also cause fruits, vegetables, and flower buds to prematurely drop off. In a bad infestation, their waxy excretions (also known as honeydew) encourages the development of sooty mold fungus..Mikmine is also effective against leaf miners which causes major damage on vegetable crops.

Leaf miners tend to be non-descript black flies. The flies do not directly cause damage to the plant; instead, it is the larva of these flies that causes the problems.

Most of the time, this pest is identified by the leaf miner damage. Frequently, it appears as yellow squiggly lines in the leaves. This is where the leaf miner larva have literally bored their way through the leaf. Leaf miner damage can also appear as spots or blotches

Mode of action: The metabolites present in Mikmine blocks the transmission of nerve and muscle cells by inhibiting glutamate-gated chloride channel. This causes an influx of chloride ions into the cells, leading to hyperpolarisation and subsequent paralysis of invertebrate neuromuscular systems

Quality Parameter
  • Appearance : yellowish liquid
  • ph – 5.5-6.5
  • Sp. gravity: 0.9-1.1
  • Odour – bitter odour
  • Shelf life :2yrs

SPREADER CUMSTICKER CUM WETTING AGENT

Miklens Bio | MIKBOND

h. MIKBOND

A speciality non-ionic spreader cum wetting agent with enhanced penetration property. The waxy surfaces of many insects, fungi, and plants make it difficult for most water-based spray solutions to penetrate their target. MIKBOND enhances pesticide/fungicide activity, facilitate and accentuate the emulsifying, dispersing, spreading, wetting, or other surface modifying properties of any liquids.

The molecules on the surface of a water droplet are held together with more force than those of the interior water molecules. This causes surface tension, which can prevent many things from going into solution and getting wet. MIKBOND overcomes surface tension. The hydrophilic head and non-polar (hydrophobic) of MIKBOND helps to break water surface tension, allowing the products to be more evenly dispersed on a surface and to reach its target.

  • MIKBOND when added to the spray mix helps coverage of the product on the plant material and to slows down agri-input loss.
  • MIKBOND acts as a surfactant that reduces the surface tension of water. This allows the product to spread across the leaf more uniformly and allows the active ingredient to be better absorbed by the plant.
  • MIKBOND increases the adhesion of spray drops to the leaf and slows down loss of the agri-input by rain.
